Magnolia Housing Projects have long been demolished, a light post still stands at the corner where youth like Vockah Redu (Javocca Davis) gathered to rap and create beats. The light post marks one of the birthplaces of Bounce music, a genre of rap specific to New Orleans that has invigorated crowds throughout the South. Vockah Redu and the Cru animate the stage with their dynamic revival of dance, music, and art from the street corner to the club. More than your typical hip-hop act, this theatrical performance sets the stage for a sweaty hands down booty up good time, transforming any party, bar, or dance floor in your neighborhood.
al Cru formed in 1997, currently the Cru is composed of Energyzah Redu (Clarence Mosley) GynjahBreaden Redu(Breaden Sanders) the late Taveion Rodeo (Donte Brown). Ro Da B (Roosevelt Tyler) The Cru dominates the stage with electrifying choreography, costumery , skits, and superb street style.

Q . What’s your name, and where are you from?
A. “ My Full birth giving name is JaVocca Rene Davis ( VOCKÃH-RÉDÜ ). I was Born in New Orleans Louisiana Raised in Magnolia Housing Projects, I Became a man in Houston Texas” .
Q. What do you do for a living?
A. “ I’m an Influential Artist full time and a Bartender / Restaurant Manager part-time. ”
Q. When did you know that you wanted to turn your gift into a career ?
A. “ I didn’t know it was a career until I was about 14 rhyming at the block parties and on the bus going to perform at football games ”.
Q. Who are some of your biggest influences in your industry?
A. “ Al Jerreau , Stevie wonder , Robert Glaspher , Erykah Badu , J Dilla , Lucky Dave , Anderson Pakk, Tyler the Creator, J Electronica, Jasmine Sullivan , and Beyoncé just To name a few ”.
Q. What would you consider your biggest accomplishment thus far in your career?
A. “ Finishing my 2019 tour was one of my biggest accomplishments ”.
Q. What legacy would you like to leave behind for yourself?
A. “ My legacy is live life in the moments and take it by Storm the Shine And that would have to be my music ”.
Q . How has the recent pandemic impacted the way you approach your craft ?
A. “ The pandemic has held me back from touring , But has me editing and perfecting my craft and self ”.
Q . Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
A. “In the next 5 years only if life last and death pass I’ll be hitting red and black carpet affairs Tv screens across the universe first up tiny desk !! ”.
