On Friday July 31st, in the midst of a global pandemic that has caused chaos and distress for many, we all received a massive gift. The gift came in the form of a 10 track Album titled “ DIFFFERNT KIDDD ” from Columbia ,South Carolina born and Atlanta based artist, producer and engineer Believe distributed by Empire records.
Believe has always been musically inclined even since his days as a child in Columbia, South Carolina . He recalls knowing at the age of ten while he was watching “ Purple Rain ” that his future in music would land him on TV one day, and he was right. He understood early in his music career that it would take hard work and dedication and the ability to “ Believe “ in himself no matter what life threw his way.
Believe has journeyed the world on international tours and has gained life time fans in the states and abroad. No matter the accolades received Believe continues to put in the ground root work that has earned him the respect of some of the music industries most influential people. You can hear the international influence on “ Difffernt Kiddd ” when listening to songs like “ As above so Below ” where he mentions his visit to Egypt and the wonders he explored . In the song “ Live from Shanghai ” where Believe frequently visits and has made many friends , he summons his inner samurai in a “ one take freestyle ” where you can hear him lyrically slay the beat with no regard to human life . At the end of the verse the ninja assassin vows to send his competition back to the creator with no remorse.
Believe plans to leave a historical legacy behind with a massive catalog of music influenced by his personal music inspirations , just to name a few Prince, A Tribe Called Quest, Shiny Toy Guns, and The Roots. The first concert Believe paid to go to was “ The Roots ” and years later he would have the opportunity to open up for “ The Roots ” while performing with his band “ Grand Prize Winners From Last Year ” at the The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.
In the next five years Believe plans to have made an even bigger crater into his personal legacy by having at least one plaque on the wall and states he will “ be in the studio working on another one ”.
As of today’s date Believe has 33 Song Placements in TV and Film. He also has appeared in an acting role as a band member on BET’s The Bobby Brown Story, and has made appearances on WE TV’s Growing Up Hip Hop ATL and BET’s American Soul.
His work has been featured as well in Rolling Stone Magazine and The Fader. As a producer and engineer his work also speaks volumes for itself as he has worked with many of music’s biggest stars of yesterday ,today , and tomorrow.
